Went to an estate sale a little over a week ago in the Blue Ridge and the home screamed and was Nags Head. It's so sad really at estate sales; the owners were deceased and you could see all of their Nags Head beach adventures in every room....... I purchased these three stepping stones chock full of sea glass and shells. They were calling my name..... It is hard to say how old they are. I loved the purple sea glass in one and also the clay tile piece in another. They needed a home and are happily at my Virginia home right now! Thought about taking them to Frisco; but my heavy lounge chair was washed out into the street unscathed during the last nor'easter so better off keeping them on high ground.
Awwwww That seems kind of sad. People will probably say the same of our place if ever my kids sell off my stuff. I hope they don’t sell my David Hunter Outer Banks etchings. I’m glad you gave the stepping stones a good home!
@LollyGirl It is sad. I always ask the estate sale company about the owners and get kinda depressed when I hear. Your kids will take care of your artwork as I'm sure they know how much it means to you. The stones do have a nice home and are loved, so that makes it easier. Their hands made them and they are somewhat primitive looking which just adds to the beauty for me.
@BentMtn it's sounds perfect that they ended up with you! I love going to antique stores and auctions and the idea of repurposing items.

So, I have been working today on this little path for my stepping stones. Threw in a couple of stones that my brother owned since he was a Nags Head fisherman. Fittin'! Tore out ugly plants. Weeded and raked and hoping it doesn't "warsh" down the driveway in the next storm! Sprinkled a few whelks around. Used some driftwood for edging. Hung out in the golf cart and treated myself to a bottle of suds after a long job.....
Bottle of suds was well deserved! Looks terrific!
