Found some beautiful starfish about three years ago in April in Frisco. I had never seen starfish with these colors. Posted it on the old OBC and Lowtide commented on what they were called. Rare to find on HI. They were dead of course. Disappointed I didn't come across any on this last trip. I made a shadow box w/them which sits in my hall bath. I gave many of them away to friends and family. A good friend in Manteo has a couple in her powder room. Just a little bit of info on what treasures one can find on the OBX beaches. I am always surprised at "new to me" pieces I discover. I enjoy taking photos at the end of a walk. Pic of mine drying on a towel. tip: buy some clear sealing spray at the hardware store and spray on dried starfish to maintain color.
