Friday/Saturday Came down to the Swansboro area on Friday night to look at some land. One of the plots was a no, but the other looked really good. Backed up to the ICW and had a great view. We left Swansboro around 11am to make the 1pm Cedar Island ferry over to Ocracoke. Nice easy ride over to Ocracoke. We were going to stop at the reopened Jolly Rodgers, but we have already eaten and just keep on going to the Hatteras Ferry. It was pretty crowded anyways. Got off the Hatteras ferry around 4:30pm, but no code to the Condo yet, so we went to the ramp 55 public access and dipped our toes in the water. We got the code around 5pm and headed over. We're staying at the Slash Creek Condos. I wanted to stay there to get a feel for it. Instead of the land in Swansboro, another option we're looking at is a condo on the Outer Banks. Pluses and minuses to both so we'll have to decide which way we want to go. We called Ms Vickie at Harbor House while on the ferry to order some steamed shrimp and hush puppies. After we settled into the condo, we head over to see Ms Vickie. If you've never been to Harbor House Seafood and talked with Ms Vickie, you really should. She is easily one of the nicest person you can meet and the seafood is fresh and really good. We'll be doing a boil from her later in the week. We brought the shrimp back and ate on the back deck. Great view from back there. Here's a couple cell phone photos. I didn't have me camera out while driving in.
Not a great sign to have the theme to the Titantic movie play while in the middle of the Pamlico sound on a boat. Spoiler, we did not hit any icebergs. 😂

Awesome, so you gonna move on the Lot? I suspect we are gonna see some note worthy price adjustments over the next 2 years.

Nice view! Did you try sound side fishing? I have to admit it was slowwwww for us but we went out on the beach and caught a bunch of bluefish. With the Hatteras Graduation last Saturday they cancelled the Hatteras fish fry so we had an informal fish fry in the driveway and it was GREAT success!
@Alexy you should try smoked bluefish. Really good but hard to keep lit 😆 Seriously, smoked blues are good.
@Beach Farmer Thanks. It will be a second residence, but really a vacation home. probably get used 3-4 months out of the year. Primary will still be PA. The market is already adjusting. A bunch of the land/homes I've saved have had price adjustments lower. Hoping I can find the right place in the next year or two.
@Alexy Thanks. We just got here yesterday, so no fishing yet. I did take the Kayak out this morning, but I had my wife with me so didn't bring any poles. I saw they did the fish fry yesterday and the line was pretty small, but we had already ordered food, so couldn't do it. Hope I can get out and do some fishing between this rain. We leave Friday or Saturday.
@Greg Never smoked blues, but I'm definitely willing to try. Gotta catch them first. 😂
Sunday We took out the kayak in the morning for a short paddled around Slash Creek. My wife was with me, so I didn't bring any fishing poles. I took a few pictures, but we mainly just paddeled around. Saw a deer on one of the islands. Saw her again later in the day from our deck. Afterward we drove around a bit, did some shopping and then got Kat's Deli for lunch. Excellent as always. After lunch we went over to Sea Breeze trail just off of Eagle pass. I've never been. If just a short trail and boardwalk loop, but it was nice. Bugs were out in force as we headed back to the car. We came back to the condo and did some reading and then went out to the Hatterasman for dinner. It has a small menu and seems to be better for lunch, but the food was really good. I got the fried fish basket and my wife got a burger. Food came out amazingly fast. Now I'm just waiting for UNC (baseball) and the Canes to come on. Thought about going out to watch the Canes, but we're just going to stay in.
