In Hatteras right now, and it appears there has been a lot of work done to the old Hatterasman drive in. New sign and lots of refurbishment. Unfortunately I can't find any news on the web on planned opening or any news. Any ideas?
@sandman I believe renovations started early last year. No idea how far along they are or reopening timeline. A lot of people are looking forward to seeing it open.
My daughter (lives in the village) said they were definitely planning to be open soon.
Pics I took of The Hattersman restaurant in September of 2016 when the subtropical cyclone Hermine blew into the OBX. We were there that weekend at our Slash Creek condo across the road from the restaurant and luckily the condo parking lot was elevated. The restaurant took a beating and of course was hit again later. Loved that restaurant and so glad to hear it's reopening. The live chickens in the restroom were hilarious.
Knew the old owner of Hatterasman. He tried so hard but the world conspired against them in the end. I wish the new owners all the best.
