Lotta storms out there.
Kitty Hawk got 1.5 in yesterday and it has been raining today sine about 10am. It looks like a narrow path of rain missing Corolla and Hatteras it looks like. We needed it badly so I am all smiles.
Just passed the "two hour tower" driving down to HI. About 45 miles on the other side of Manteo on route 64. Terrible thunderstorm. Inland is sure getting the much needed rain.

@Obk9x2 - Thanks so much. Had to sit in the truck for 30 minutes upon arrival as lightning strikes were hitting the ground every three minutes. Brought down my sis in law who is 86 (and her little dog, too) and had a fun time taking off her shoes and compression hose (ha) as the water was 8 inches under the house. Then helping her up the steps in the rain. She's six feet tall. Oh well; I'm strong. Made tortellini and cannellini soup last night to bring down so I wouldn't have to COOK tonight after a 425 mile trip. Thank you for thinking of me and I'm looking forward to a nice trip with her shelling with her cane. She needed some time away. Hope that you have a good week!
@BentMtn When me and sis were eating her skillet pasta veggie dish for supper hehe no cooking for me i told her i could see yall in pouring rain unloading but you wouldn't care much cause you were there. So glad yall stayed in truck-too frightening! I know how much you enjoy your time with her and happy she could make the trip. 👋 to her and have a marvelous week😃 I mention agin if you find a sand dollar smile n throw me a wink mf! The forecast doesn't look any better for the rest of the week either. Possibility of showers and storms the next 2 days then pretty much a wash out from Thursday through Saturday. Feel bad for those visiting this week that won't get much time on the sand (or the required sunburn) but they can explore the rest of what there is to offer along the beach
You're right, Floyd. May be a wash out, but storms are nice to watch over the water with a good book. Wind gust predictions upwards to 34 for today. Very pretty this morning. I've been up since 6 taking some pics and videos and winds are picking up.

Yesterday turned out to be a nice day. Sun and clouds and the ocean was frothy. Spent about an hour there with my sister in law. Plopped her in a chair and gave her a beer. She was happy. I would not let her step over the big hump down to the shore's edge. This little boy of hers stayed at the cottage and I won't allow him on the beach anymore. Two years ago he ingested some sand while trying to wolf down bait on the beach. It was a tug o' war with his leash trying to keep him from eating it. Yummy! $1,000.00 later after spending the night at the Coastal Animal Hospital from sand impaction, he is banned by me. He won't listen, so a no brainer to make him stay at home.
