Wow - we are getting another gas station with food and it will be right next to the WAWA in Kill Devil Hills soon. There was a Speedway gas station until recently. The rental car place next door was going to go into this building Speedway had, but now I am told it will be a Big Red's like the one in Grandy. Do we need two huge gas station next door to each other. The red X is the WAW and the other lot is going to be Big Red's. http://bigredsnc.com/about-big-reds/

Big Red's will be selling food from Cindy's Kitchen, which is affiliated with Kevin's gas/convenience store in Coinjock. You know, the 12 Layer Cake sign? Their food is supposed to be outstanding
@Craic'n Crabs sadly we are loosing a bank in Kitty Hawk that is going to become another food and gas station - Royal Farms.

I know there are a lot of gas stations, but saw a segment on the news the other day about gas stations going gourmet with their food menus. That's ok, but a few people stop and get gas, leave their cars at the pump, go in and order food, and some sit outside and eat, car still at the pump. At least the more stations will give the people who just want to get gas, it will free up more pumps, especially with the crowds at the beach. Just an observation.
@Don -Should be some regs that someone needs to put into place. Even the fast food joints have a side pull off through the lane if ya order something "special" that takes some time......
Love the pic...Not wanting to throw everyone under the bus for parking and running inside real quick. After 3 or more hours on the road, sometimes you just gotta go quick ..lol..back in your car get gas and leave.
My first thought - one of those Texas sized gas stations with 120 pumps was coming to OBX! 😆
@Don - Oh, for sure, Don, about not throwing anyone under the bus. Zip in, haul it to the restroom, grab some iced tea and leave! Buuuut, to eat their food at the gas pumps, it surely does stop the flow. I used to take my mother to the grocery store each week when she was about 90 or so, and when she entered the doors with her cart, she would stop right inside the entrance and look at her list. People backing up behind her shaking their heads. She would get mad at me if I told her to move to let in customers so I would run over to produce and hide like I didn't know her.... Kinda like trying to get on the beach at The Point.....

@Tim-OBX no, that's some of the other convenience stores that sell "gas station chain fried chicken" like Champs or Krispy Krunchy etc
Well, we all knew that property was going to be used for something. And it already was built as a gas station. Three gas stations in a row! With Enterprise and car wash sandwiched in!
