I asked on TripAdvisor, and asking again, my family is looking to hit up some parks. Staying in Nags Head. I've seen Nags Head Woods and Kitty Hawk Woods. Jockeys Ridge?? Maybe. Anything I'm missing? Thanks.
Run Hill, Elizabethan Gardens, Cape Hatteras, Ocracoke, 4x4 Carova are some other notable areas
Are you just looking at the parks to just visit? Jockeys Ridge is worth a visit and walk up to the top of the sand dunes for a great view. Bodie lighthouse is worth a visit.
@Tim-OBX Some in the family aren't big beach people. They prefer camping. 😢
@Baileygirl Fort Raleigh National Historic Site has multiple trails to walk, a beach, and nice soundside views. Two other national park units in the area are Wright Brothers National Memorial and Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
