Haven't visited obx since last Oct and hope to save up to bring my youngest sis with me in a couple months for a week. One sis went to heaven 3 yrs ago and our oldest just last month and we all would come time to time together. I have been with Verizon for almost 30 yrs and obviously happy but in the last 6 months where i live in rural area coverage is going in and out much more to where i'm seriously considering another carrier. Dont wanna be down there and not be able to send pics and communicate with friends and fam back home. No problems even on ferry last Oct so would appreciate any input from locals or recent visitors. I am not a recent visitor, but I live here. I had Verizon here for 12+ years until I gave up paying $95 and more for 2 lines. I pay $32 now. Verizon did a fine job for coverage, they just have so many extra fees they charge.
@Tim-OBX I have a flip phone-never think about getting any other- serves me well. I get loyalty discount so pay 35.63 and obviously price is not the issue. I thank you for your input . I know from the obc site -followed but never joined- you are a very very reliable wealth of info down there. Especially enjoyed doggie pics and stories 😄
Verizon cell coverage is fine up and down the Outer Banks. We live in Nags Head and have never had a coverage problem with Verizon. There are spots around Oregon Inlet between ramps 2 and 4 where there is little to no coverage for any carrier.
@W&M OBX Thx for your input w&m obx. Appreciate it. Seems the more satellites they incorporate in rural areas around here it happens more often-have almost 7 acres here with house alot wooded but like i stated up until 6 months or so ago no issues except maybe nationwise issues verizon had. Neighbors around here tell me same issues in that time frame. Has happened 5x already this am and cant remember last time here i had over 2 bars. Thx so much 👌
Can't speak to Verizon, but AT&T has good coverage in most of the Outer Banks.
