Lion's Paw Scallop

This is the first one I have ever found at any beach. Relatively thin, thick ribs running down and a bi-valve. Colors are so pretty. On ramp 49, of course. People catching the heck out of Whitings. Group after group on the beach catching them. One group said they caught so many yesterday that they had them for dinner last night. They said they are using bloodworms. $21.00 a bag....

Purty shell, Bent. I wish the whiting were there when I was, love them. This is my view this afternoon. Happy Friday!

Interesting shell, Bent. Ida named it skeleton scallop. :-] For table fare Whiting is hard to beat. A bit of a pain to work 'em up, but if you have a good mess of 'em - with one man filleting and one man boning - it's worth it.

@Greg -- Thanks, Greg! I am sure your culinary skills would make a feast out of whiting. I like it, too. Looks like you are having a swell afternoon with your bev! Happy Friday back atcha!

@Stumpy --It is interesting and I'll put it out for Halloween!! You funny.... I'm sure your culinary skills are great and you seem to know your stuff. It is tasty and light for sure. At first the guy said it was a mullet and then changed his tune and called it a whiting.

@BentMtn Well, down to Mohaid Sita & Tops'l area they call 'em Sea Mullet. Up norf and along the guff coast they call 'em Kingfish. Spent some a my youf on Hol'n and they's Whiting there. 🐟

@Stumpy -- Hahahahhahaha! This guy was from Troutman, Nawth Cacalackey! Def suuthren.

@BentMtn Those eagle eyes of yours-amazing those rare finds! imo

@Obk9x2 -- Thank you! Wellll, I'm horribly near sighted and wear specs most of the time. Just got lucky. Have a great night!

@BentMtn Near sighted also with specs and another line for oldies who cant read small print hehe. Comfort and rest for you and yours tonight 🙏

@BentMtn a nice afternoon at a local farm brewery to let the girls unwind on a Friday.

@Greg -- Nice! Looks like strong beer! I can't handle that IPA stuff. Fun day!

@BentMtn 5.5%, not bad at all.
