I check in on the Queen Elizabeth Ave. webcam over in Manteo every other day. It skips forward every 15 or 20 seconds or so. Has anyone else noticed this.
I looked into it. This is why it does what it does - 1. Live-edge catch-up — the player drops buffered frames to stay near real-time. This is built into the source feed (we just embed their iframe) and we can't change it. 2. Bandwidth dips — if a segment fails to download in time, the player skips ahead rather than pause. 3. Source camera hiccups — the Town of Manteo's encoder occasionally drops frames; the player compensates by jumping.
