@Craic'n Crabs - My son had a slider turtle named Freddie he picked up on Back Creek at our old farm in VA. He was teeny tiny then and he took him to college at ODU. He grew much bigger. Graduation week, he released him into the pond on campus in Norfolk and I'm surprised there weren't bagpipes playing in the background as a goodbye ode. We feel sure that he's still alive and thriving in his pond. He was so sad, but had to let him go..... Release pics of Freddie... I always count the turtles lazing on their rocks and slabs of wood while driving through Alligator River on 64. Pretty cool! Funny how there is always a " day" or 'week" for some cause.
