How is the Sound bite doing? We'll be down mid June and I'm looking forward to doing some fishing in a Kayak. We'll be staying in the Slash Creek area, so I'll probably be doing more sound fishing than surf fishing.
@J4yDubs So far...it has been steady sound side. I did not measure the trout bite but they are out there but the water temp has not come up enough to measure the bite but they have been catching them behind Brigands Bay ( north of Slash Creek) My son was down 2 weeks ago and said the sound side bite at Hatteras Inlet was very good in the AM high tide for of all things blue fish and a few pompanos ...in very dirty water. I am headed down this weekend and will try to post up what I find. I also will be yakking using a Pelican 100X this year so I'm "downsizing" a bit
Also I will add that 2 sound side guides were saying how there has been a very consistent bite at Durant point right by you. I believe that was posted over on the Frisco Rod and Gun Club page last week.
@Alexy Thanks for the info Alexy! Would love to hear how it goes this weekend. I'm currently boat less, so a yakking we will go. I'll be limited in my range, but around Durant Point was going to be my focus at first. It's been a long time since I've done sound side fishing, I normally have my butt in the sand surf side.
@Alexy Hey Alexy, were you able to get any lines wet yet?
@J4yDubs yeah we have fished mornings and evenings soundside and it has been slow. We went out at 55 and ended up with 4 bluefish
@Alexy Hope it picks up next week. Also hope I can get out between the rain early in the week.
