It's been a crazy amount of work on that tiny bare lot between 12 and Silver Lake, aka the creek. The pics are a few weeks old from their FB page. The opening could be this week, next week, etc., depending on the final inspections. The work on the hotel buildings across 12 continues. There are about two truckloads of boxes stacked by the road, about the size for tables and chairs.

Might have to stop and eat there (if it's open) when we visit Hatteras Village. We'll be taking the ferry from Cedar Island to Ocracoke then over to Hatteras. Last time we were there was in 2018 when we ate lunch at the Jolly Rogers after coming back from a trip over to Portsmouth.

When I say they have had swarms of workers/contractors/subs/all hands on deck, I'm not kidding. Everything else has been done since this pic - the buildings, the utilities under 12, all new septic, everything. I was sitting across 12 in our golf cart when I took this pic on 12/29/25.
