To me, this boater seemed a bit too close to the shore yesterday at HI inlet. They seemed fine though and continued boating south towards Ocracoke. Big boat too.

I'm going to guess they were looking for cobia, which cruise inside the outer bar when feeding. It's the right time of year for spotting them in the surf.
@Greg they would have better luck and a smoother ride going inside the inlet and to the north of the inlet. That is a great spot for cobia all the way up to Hatteras Marina
