Beautiful and Awful at Pea Island
@SassyGirl They are fascinating to look at, but the stings... I saw a show on tv that gave me some grim satisfaction, seeing an anemone 'reeling' a jellyfish in for its dinner.
My sister and her friend were at Cherry Grove Beach last fall for a long weekend. The friend got stung by one of these and fainted one hour after the sting and fell down a couple of steps and broke her leg. The hospital doc told her that her fainting spell was usual for a sting.
@BentMtn that's awful and glad she is ok. I got stung a few years ago and am thankful that I keep a spray bottle of vinegar in my beach chair. It helped to decrease the pain immediately.
