Every year we have a corn hole competition and watch the fireworks from our deck
@SassyGirl a cookout, some cornhole, watch the celebration on TV. Maybe buy a truckload of ice blocks to build an igloo... it is supposed to be record 🔥.
@SassyGirl - In this pool with my friend, Jan, who is travelling from Bedford County; my old railroad buddy with the laugh that can be heard around the world! Good for the soul. As in last year, I predict Alexy will be able to hear us in BB. And, going to a cook out 'round the corner in BB.
@Greg lol record setting temps here in my neck of the woods in va. Supposed to be chance of storms thru wkend and chances next wk. Probably be simple traditional meal me and sis and watch fireworks on tv if dish holds up if storms do roll in 🙏. The beach, cookout, corn hole tourney, then the firework show from people on the beach. Lucky to be able to see them over the trees from our deck
We'll have have friends and family over with multiple grills going, pool, and corn hole. Hoping the storms stay away, but I'll have ez-ups over the grills just in case. Don't do fireworks anymore because our dog is scared to death of them. When the neighbors start shooting them off, I'll go down into the basement with Coby.
Cook out with friends and family to include a seafood boil. Then headed over to a local spot to watch some fireworks.
Ocracoke fireworks are tonight. The parade is on the 4th. __________ Thursday, July 2 Pre-show Music: A pre-fireworks gathering will feature DJ Tommy Hutcherson at the National Park Service (NPS) docks starting at 7:00 p.m.Fireworks: The main display over Silver Lake Harbor launches at approximately 9:15 p.m. Friday, July 3 Community Fish Fry: An open house and fish fry will be held at the Island Inn Commons from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.Square Dance: The Old-Time Ocracoke Square Dance with Molasses Creek takes place at the Berkley Barn from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. ($5 admission for ages 13 and older). Saturday, July 4 Sand Sculpture Contest: Head to the Lifeguard Beach between 9:30 a.m. and noon to participate or watch.Independence Day Parade: The annual hometown parade will cruise through the village at 4:00 p.m.. Beach Fire: Wrap up the holiday with a community beach fire at the Ocracoke Day Use Area from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
It was a great show last night. My wife took this from a dock across Silver Lake from the ferry terminal parking lot where they staged the show.

@Obk9x2 Thank you. Same to you. It's crowded here. I think every rental golf cart in the village is on the road today. The rental lots are all but empty and the free trams are full most of the time. It's another summer at the beach.
