@BentMtn I didn't know Wilbur died of typhoid fever. He probably suffered quite a bit before he died.
Retired pilot here. Yes, a good article, but I do have some comments. This guy greatly minimizes Orville's contributions to the first flight. I would agree that Wilber was the steering force behind them both. Their mechanic, Charlie Taylor is credited with "designing and building" the engine "based partly on rough sketches provided by the Wrights." (Wikipedia: Charlie Taylor Mechanic) The wing warping that was predecessor to the aileron, controls "Roll", not "yaw". Yaw is controlled by the rudder. The wing warping together with the rudder induces a turn. So this guy is a good writer and a fan boy for Wilber and minimizes Orville for some reason.

I highly recommend the book “The Bishop’s Boys” by Tom Crouch. I couldn’t put it down. We bought it at the gift shop at the Wright Memorial a number of years ago.
