Sugar Kingdom in Buxton

So, the building that once housed the Red Drum Food Mart and Lighthouse Service Center for decades officially has new signs up. The main shop is called “Drum Market Convenience,” along with “HI Deli and Cafe,” some vintage shop I can’t remember the name of right now, and a Sugar Kingdom. They’ve done a whole lot of work to the building, and it looks so much nicer than what stood there, but I do wish someone else could have purchased the property and done something cool with it. I don’t care anything about Sugar Kingdom, but hoping the convenience store and cafe will offer some nice things for locals and tourists. For reference, here’s the article from last year regarding the sale: https://islandfreepress.org/real-estate/after-60-years-historic-red-drum-property-changes-hands-buyer-linked-to-local-retail-ventures/

@jessicaboyd You will have to keep us updated plez. Except sugar kingdom (doesnt interest me) there may be something there that might. Thanks mf ❤️ 🙏

First serious storm hits Buxton and all of it will flood. There is a reason the old place was never renovated much.

@Alexy Hate to be a downer but I remember one year when it was waist deep in Bob’s store.

@Squid Pro Quo exactly I think people forget. First nor easter on a New moon and their insurance company will remind them.

@Alexy Yep, floods across the street even.

@jessicaboyd Who knows the owners may be like you Jessica. Look at what you endured to achieved to realize your dream. No need to regret the risks you didnt take -life too short 😂 🙏 and 🙏 for you always mf ::flag-us::
