Haven't checked, but I'm guessing the wildfire smoke is probably as far south as the Outer Banks. I just stepped outside to go and look up at the MTN ridge to see what it looked like after smelling some faint smoke in the air in SW Virginia early this morning. Wow!
It was really thick up here in the NW burbs of Philly yesterday. They moved up the Phillies game because of the smoke, It's still here today, but not as bad.

@BentMtn Hazy skies past couple days here Catawba Valley area Va. Was gonna trek long driveway with cane to mailbox daily therapy but after stepping outside haha came back and grabbed keys to suv. @BentMtn Smoky here yesterday and today. Today is worse. The sun disc is visible but not casting sharp shadow lines. The wind direction is supposed to change by supper time. I'm grilling tonight, maybe that will help? 😆

I have not noticed it in Kitty Hawk the last few days. The maps I saw look like it goes to about Norfolk.

It is horrible here in the Shenandoah valley. Attached pics show the lack of visibility and t smells burnt.
