WARNING- have your eye bleach at the ready!!!

Sorry for this ahead of time but everyone here that knows me, know I been a fat bastard for the past 4-5 years so 4 months ago TODAY I started training and eating on the full carnivore diet. I stepped on the scale today and I'm down 40lbs at 59 years old so I thought I would offer everyone a ticket to the Gun Show- if you wake up in the middle of the night screaming, first of all don't kid yourself, second of all you can't say I didn't warn you. hehehe

Keep it up BF. The only thing we have to combat getting old is staying in shape and eating healthy. 👍

@Stumpy Thanks Stump! I really appreciate the encouragement. I'm fully aware of how silly I look doing a pose-down on my back porch but I was seriously diabetic and depressed with inflammation and a fatty liver. I seriously could have dropped dead. Now I'm biking 4-5 miles HARD like the cops are chasing me several times a week and lifting weights 6 days with one day off and eating perfect. My glucose was 78 this morning. When I started it was 187. I'd like to drop another 20 down to 210. At 6ft that's where I feel my best. Oh, and no alcohol at all too!

@Beach Farmer If you're on X there are a couple of people that are "on the same page" that are worth a follow. https://x.com/SamaHoole https://x.com/LiveAncestral While we have not gone full carnivore, every effort is made to eat clean.

The hardest thing to avoid that causes inflammation are seed oils. They're in EVERYTHING because they are the cheapest oils. They clog up your liver pretty badly. Cut those out, you will lose more weight, guaranteed. But it will take your liver about 6 months to clear out the seed oils first, then your metabolism will increase as the omega-6/omega-3 ratio comes into better territory. I'm with Stumpy on the clean eating. Everything in moderation, nothing in deprivation.

@Greg said, "The hardest thing to avoid that causes inflammation are seed oils." Yep. #2 is refined grains. Shouldn't be a problem on carnivore tho. 😎

@Greg We don't use ANY seed oils at all. We actually buy Suet and render it for tallow for the rare times that we fry anything. If I'm making eggs I use butter. Since I don't eat any carbs at all I need quite a bit of animal fat as well as some avocados. I'm too insulin resistant to eat any carbs right now. It will probably be a couple years but for now I'm fat adapted and feel great. My liver is 85% recovered . I attribute that to interval training and lifting weights in the heat. I don't train at all in A/C and even though it totally sucked at first I just pushed through it and sweat like a beast. I just finished lifting outside and it's crazy hot but my joints feel fantastic and the heat seems to really purge toxins. I never dreamed I would be able to lift weights for two hours in this heat but now I love it.

@Beach Farmer -- I fast one day a week and have for a long while. Get on the scales the next morning and down 2 pounds. It works well for me. Fasting affords me to have that ice cream every once in a while. And, I walk my arse off... Good for you with your regimen. Keep it up and you look great.

@Beach Farmer avocado & olive oil is what I mainly cook with. For extra flavor, I use chicken or bacon fat.

@BentMtn Thanks Bent! I don't eat till 1pm or after 6pm. My next step will be a full day a week like you suggested. I gotta do it in stages or I'll find a reason to quit. One good thing about getting old is "knowing thyself". (;

@BentMtn I don't eat anything between 6pm and 10am almost every day. 16 hours with no food makes the body burn reserves without slowing down your metabolism and enzyme production. I have done several 5 day fasts, but breaking the fast takes 2 more days of s l o w l y getting used to food again, lol.

BF and Greg: That's the key. Fasting will shrink the tummy and ya don't want seconds anymore. That was the winning ticket for me. Finally got rid of my leg hamhocks.....but that was the walking.

@Beach Farmer 🙏 Be safe ::flag-us::👏
