Close friends in the Brakewood area in Manteo sent this last night. Streets and garages full of water. A real pain for all of them.

We rescued ours too from there too
@Alexy - Such a pretty dog! Great place to get them, Alexy. I really am thinking seriously about getting another. Gotta fill that empty spot.

@BentMtn We got her 12 years ago. My son and I had come down for a weekend and they had advertised 3 lab mix puppies. Rose Peaches and Violet. The only picture was Rose. We drove up to get her but someone had already adopted her when we got there but she said we still have Violet. we sat down with her and it was an instant hit. fast forward 8-9 years and I'm in Ace hardware Avon and a guy who works in Hatteras doing maintenance has a dog that looks exactly like Violet and I tell him she looks just like our dog we got from the SPCA. He says " that's where we got her her name is Rose". I drove violet down to meet him outside the docks in Hatteras and it was funny how they smelled each other and knew. they played for almost 2 hrs and we left and we kept in touch She made it 11 years and passed away few years ago and Violet passed away this May.
@Alexy - I love that story, Alexy. So sweet how they knew each other and played and that you recognized her sister and stayed in touch with the owner. And their names were precious! I am sorry again about Violet. They tug at our hearts and it's so difficult to say goodbye. Thank you, neighbor.
