Year 20 of vacationing on the OBX. Many years we have been down several times, but only once this year. As we’ve gotten older, we’ve moved from Oceanfront to the Soundside. The kids are grown and enjoy the pool as much as the beach and can’t beat a quiet morning sipping coffee on the Sound. I have noticed that there seems to be a drop in tourist this year. Restaurants aren’t crowded and even the beach at beach access wasn’t crowded. Maybe it’s just me. Anyways, just wanted to pop in and thank the locals for sharing this slice of heaven with those of us who only come down for a week or two each year.
