So, I found one of my nicest hens dead in the coup the other day, very sad. So I set up a trap with some pepperoni last night and found this little bastard in the cage this Morning. I was going to shoot it but I have gone soft in my old age. I figure life must suck for a Possum and it's not like I don't eat chicken so I issued a decree of banishment and drove her (I think it's a girl) across the bridge to the other side of the ICW and let her out in the game preserve over there.
@Beach Farmer Sorry about your hen. Haven't heard of them going after big game. Must have been a hungry little fella.
I’ve had foxes, dogs and owls get my hens. I was always heartbroken when it happened. My hens were my special girls
@LollyGirl I even bought these motion activated Wolf sounds with red blinking lights on a poles all around the coup! This place is deep in the backwoods here in Hyde County though. We had a former school teacher here that was killed by an "unidentified" predator out walking her dogs one morning a few years back.
Oh wow! That’s scary BF! Did they ever recover her? I forgot to add coyotes. Believe it or not, we are overrun by them here in south jersey. I often hear their “yipping” at night.
